Three Models to Get Data

Contactous offers 3 models to get data from the scanned business card into the centralized system of organization. The model is selected based on organization's choice:

​​A) You choose to use Contactous as data acquisition and management system for your organization only. You would like to do the data entry yourself or by your own contractors. In this case, just use the Enterprise Contact Manager license only.

B) In addition to (A) you choose to let the system extract the data from business cards automatically using OCR and populate the fields. You are aware that there could be errors in OCR and parsing the data and choose to correct those errors yourself. In this case, use Enterprise Contact Manager license + Business Card Auto Parser license.

C) In addition to (A), you prefer to have 100% accurate data from all scanned cards into your system. This is a common requirement and transcription of data is done by Contactous' data entry operators. In this case, use Enterprise Contact Manager license + Business Card Transcription Service.

FAQ :: Enterprise Business Card Management

How can I scan my business cards?
Using Contactous' mobile app is the easiest way. Available for iOS and Android platforms, it sends the data to the processing queue. Alternatively, photographs can be taken by mobile phone's cameras and uploaded individually or in a batch. The images of business cards can also be uploaded by a browser based interface on your desktop or notebook. 

I already have a business card reader. How can I export the data to Contactous?
If your data is accurate, then you can export from that business card reader's export function. Data as image or text files can be imported into Contactous. The data will automatically by separated for every user in the organization. 

How can I get my channel partners or regional offices to enter their data?
Just create an account for them within your system with appropriate security privileges. Once done, users can login to mobile app to take photo of business cards and send to your Contactous environment.

Can you help to scan our business cards?
Our selected partners can help. Do contact us and we will do our best to find a suitable partner who can scan the cards. 

How can I add more data to the business card during scan?
The mobile app provides functionality to add notes to the cards during or after the scan. Unlimited tags can be manually or automatically linked to the card image. Photograph of the person (or a relevant image) can be captured or uploaded later and linked to the card. 

Why should I use Contactous instead of yet-another-OCR-based mobile app?
Contactous is a platform to get data from multiple sources into a centralized system. We do the transcription manually for high accuracy. Moreover, Contactous is also an enterprise-wide business contact management application. How can I get my secretary to scan my business cards under my name? 
There are 3 ways to do it - 1) The recommended way is to let your secretary select your name as the Default Name (under Settings). All scanned cards will scanned under your name. 2) An easy way is to give your user access (login / password) to your secretary. The cards will get scanned in your name. After the scanning is complete, you can change the password, if required. 3) Lastly, the secretary can scan all the cards using any assigned account and then change the 'Contact Owner' of all the cards to you from the web-based application.
