Thank you for your interest in Contactous' Enterprise Contact Manager (ECM).
Below are the instructions to access the evaluation version of Contactous. This instance is a complete working model and has few hundred records of fictitious data. There are 2 applications to be tested:
1) The first is a feature rich web-based application used by standard users and administrators. Restricted users do not have access to this web-based application.
2) The second application is a mobile app that is used by all types of users within an organization. It is used to access ECM records, make quick entry, access reports, enter notes/tags and take photos of business cards.
Please note that several partners and prospects could be trying these instructions, accessing the same data and even modifying it. Feel free to do that yourself to get a feel of it by adding test data. We reset this evaluation database once every couple of weeks during the weekends. Hence, if you make any changes, they will vanish after our next reset.
See the product page of Enterprise Contact Manager to review the features. But a more important document is the ECM Product FAQ, which can also be accessed from the application. Browsing these 2 links will help the evaluation.
Three users have been created: Alice, Bob and Cliff.
Alice has the permission of viewing and editing any record in the system. For all practical purposes, just use this login to evaluate.
Bob is another user who can only edit his own records. Cliff is a restricted user. He can access the system only through mobile app. None of the user is an administrator and hence several advance functions are not visible.
To access Web backend, go to www.contactous.com > Login, and enter the system as either alice or bob, using demo as the company code. Company Code: demo Username: alice Password: morepower
For advance evaluation you can also login as Bob and Cliff. For Bob, the username is bob and password is lesspower. The difference between Alice and Bob's settings is that Alice can edit another user's records while Bob can edit only his data. However, both have visibility of all records in the system. Cliff being a restricted user can only access the system through mobile app. Cliff can only view his records. The username is cliff and password is nopower. The company code remains same as demo.
To access using an Android phone, please download the app from Google Play Store and use the above company code/login/password for access. For iOS, the app can be downloaded from Apple's Store.
In the web application, you should try to create users, tag them (eg, hot lead, won, critical, strategic etc), create static lists (like attendees at a tradeshow or RSVP list of an event), build dynamic lists (eg, customers in Manila with designation as CEO), add notes about a contact etc. The mobile application is used to access the same database.
The options of Import/Export, Detecting and Merging duplicate records, adding/customizing fields for your environment, defining users and their permissions, defining company specific regions etc - all are with administrator. In the above example, the 3 users are not administrators. If you need the access to Administrator, please let us know.
Here are our 10 suggestions to try, during your evaluation of Contactous:
1. Check out a contact called 'Tracy'. Study the notes for this individual. This feature is widely used by Contactous users to enter the details of every interaction with a contact. The same notes can be seen after logging into the mobile app.
2. Check the record of 'City Lake Hotel'. The handwritten mobile number has been captured by a data entry operator.
3. To take #2 further, search for 'Justin Chua'. The contact details were given on a paper napkin instead of business card.
4. Search for 'Janice Toh' and see her cards. This is an example of non-business card document captured by Contactous. You will see a purchased mobile phone's warranty card.
5. Scan a business card from mobile app and see its record in 'Yet To Transcribe' report in web application. In non-demo version, the transcriptor works on this queue to manually enter the data.
6. From the mobile app, try to search for contacts through name, company name, tags or by index.
7. Try to save the contact from search results in mobile phone to your local address book or send the business card by email to a non-Contactous user.
8. Cliff is a restricted user with few contacts with him. He will be denied access through web-application and can only access his records. Both Alice and Bob can see Cliff's records though.
9. Try to login through Alice and see that you can change other's cards, while that is not allowed for Bob.
10. Experiment with static and dynamic lists. This is a very powerful feature of the system. The lists can be made for one's own use or shared with other users. Explore the flexibility of tags. Each user can have own tags and can search/segment records based on them.
